I will show you:
My village of Vias, Hérault, about 50 minutes west of Montpellier, has an interesting history that dates back to Gallo-Roman times. There are a number of interesting buildings to discover, not to mention, the village is also located on the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Canal du Midi.
Starting at Europark, Vias Plage, I'll take you on a gentle walking tour, starting out along the canal towpath, where you'll learn some of the history behind the construction of the Canal and some interesting facts.
We will then walk the 1.8km to the village of Vias, stopping en route for a quick, local wine-tasting at the Cave de Ormarine.
Then we'll take a stroll around the compact village centre; starting at the medieval, black-stone church of St Jean-Baptiste and finishing at the local market, where we'll sample locally made olives, wines and cheeses as well as have some time to shop for souvenirs.
There will then be the option to play a friendly apéro game of pétanque at the village 'piste' before walking or catching the bus back to Vias Plage.

About me:
I'm a British-Australian woman, living in the south of France (via Canada).
I am an experienced tour guide and have lived and worked in the Languedoc region since March 2018, taking clients on tours of the natural and cultural wonders of the region.
I have a Bachelors degree in Human Geography and a 13-year career as an Urban Planner before becoming a tour guide; all of these relying on my passion for learning about and describing the geographical context and history of a place. I also have a WSET Level 1 qualification in wine and am currently studying for Level 2.
My clients all have different backgrounds and interests and I am very adept at adapting my tours to what they want to see and learn.
The tour outlined below is just an example of a tour around my village. I am very familiar with many other towns and villages in the region, including Agde, Béziers, Pézenas, Narbonne, Lagrasse, Minerve and numerous 'hidden gem' villages
If you have your own car then I can accompany you on guided tours around any part of the Languedoc region and I can also tailor-make history, wine or gastronomy tours.
